So let’s just get it out there: we all know that “If U Seek Amy” = “F.U.C.K. Me” and it’s not like we’re surprised that it’s Britney Spears whose name is attached to this trashy song title. And whatever cleverness we can grant the song in “hiding “ it’s skanky message, it’s not like she actually wrote the song anyway. The video starts off with an oh-so original news report about how fabulously scandalous Britney is (see: Britney Spears’ “Overprotected” music video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q0_N2EEbfs). We get a brief tour the whore-house that the video is going to take place in, then we first see Britney rise into the shot from what can only be described as a classic just-finished-giving-some-dude-a-blowjob position. Supposedly the plot of this video is that she’s looking for Amy, which would explain why she fondles some dirty thong that she finds on the ground while singing about her. Cut to an all male group-dance orgy scene where Britney is the centre of attention (see: every other Brtiney music video ever made). Now cut to the same scene, except now with all women while the men watch. Then! In a shocking turn on events, Britney puts clothes on (although even she can’t keep herself from trying to make that sickeningly sexual) and she descends the stairs, transforming into a suburban housewife, and for some inexplicable reason, she grabs an apple pie (nice reference) and meets a huge group of paparazzi outside. Note the ending where the news reporter from the beginning of the video points out that the video doesn’t make any sense. Let’s just be clear that deliberately pointing out how stupid your video is doesn’t make up for the fact that you still put it out for all to see. And just so whoever directed this video doesn’t get too worried: yes, we noticed all of the shots of the red hooker shoes – we just don’t care. Someday Britney’s kids are going to be so proud.
