Okay, we hate to tear down the kid before he even gets started, but seriously, with this video, he may never even get started at all. Aside from the fact that we thought it was a girl singing when we first heard the song, this video production is just terrible! For example, why does that toddler have an iPhone, and why is he playing Xbox in some random mansion!? Well it turns out that that toddler is actually 15 year-old “J.B.” and that mansion is Usher’s house (you remember Usher, right?). And the Xbox? Well, the controller isn’t even on, so you know those kids aren’t having as much fun as they are pretending to. The concept of this video is soooo lame. Check out the sick back-lighting job in the solo shots, and do we even have to mention the hand gestures used to act out every line? Apparently the sign for “1” is the same as the sign for “mountain top” and we can’t even figure out which words the constant breast-grabbing moves go with. Also note that Justin Beiber’s “world” is heart-shaped. Speaking of which: I don’t know about you, but nothing pisses us off more than kids singing about “love” unless it’s about how much they “love” recess or Disney movies. Maybe his 20-something year-old backup friends and extras could teach him a thing or two about it. And just when you thought that Usher’s appearance in the video was clever sleight of video editing, he actually shows up at the end catches J.B. in the act (oh noez). Lame.
