Give It 2 Me - Madonna

Here’s Madonna’s newest music video, from her latest album “Hard Candy,” which also happens to be her eleventh record, indicating that, no, she just won’t go away.
This particular video starts off with Madonna moving and stretching her body in front of a dance studio mirror, in a way that a 50 year-old’s body just shouldn’t move, reminding us of just about every other video she’s made in the past five years. Didn’t she start off her “Hung Up” video the exact same way? Now she’s even ripping herself off! Once we get through the first 30 seconds that has nothing at all to do with the rest of the video, we get to watch her sing straight into the camera while fondling herself for the rest of it. Whoever said that old cougar women look best in tiny leather clothes, in black and white, and in duplicate or triplicate should be shot (see: Kylie Minogue’s “All I See”).

Then there’s the “collaborating” with guys half their age (an obvious attempt to suckle at the teat of their rising success). Pharrell says a grand total of about seven words in the whole song and the rest of the video, he just stands there making hand gestures to the words. What else happens in this garbage video that’s noteworthy? Nothing. Don’t believe me? Watch it.
